The Best Rape Prevention Poster Ever

(Simone, I couldn't find the YouTube video you mentioned.  Could you edit this to include a link.  THANK YOU!)

  1. I needed this poster, because it's made me realize just how much the "assault prevention" materials in circulation risk positioning the potential victim as the decision-maker: you can follow these guidelines and not be assaulted, or you can not follow them and be assaulted, either way it's your choice. What's missing is a recognition of the one committing the assault as the one at fault. The premise I'm reading in this poster is so simple as to be funny--how can assault be prevented? DON'T ASSAULT PEOPLE. I'm pretty ashamed that it took this long for me to see how problematic the current discourse on assault prevention actually is.
